Ire-Tex Corporation Berhad ("ITCB" or "the Company") wishes to announce that according to the Record of Depositors of ITCB as at 31 December 2007 the public shareholding spread of the Company is as follows:

Number of Public Shareholders: 991

Percentage of public shareholding: 45.00%

Pursuant to paragraph 8.15 (1) of the listing requirements of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad ("Listing Requirements"), a listed company must ensure that at least 25% of its total listed shares are in the hands of a minimum of 1,000 public shareholders holding not less than 100 shares each. Accordingly the Company does not comply with the public shareholding spread requirements set out in paragraph 8.15 (1) of the Listing Requirements in terms of the number of public shareholders.

At this juncture, the Company has yet to formulate a formal rectification plan to increase the number of public shareholders. However the Company intends to increase its investor relations activities with a view of creating more awareness of the Company and its business among the investing public to encourage more public participation in the shares of ITCB.

Pursuant to paragraph 8.15 (3) of the Listing Requirements, ITCB has on 27 February 2008 applied to Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad for an extension of time up to 30 June 2008 to meet the said minimum number of public shareholders.
